Humic acid and Easy Plug
At Sunside Genetics we always germinate our seeds in Easy Plug's and use humic acid in the water because this increases the germination rate of the seeds.
We use a product from Organic Nutrient's: Big Start. This also promotes root production and the vitality of the plants right from the start.
Fertilizer & repotting
After germination, we recommend using a lightly pre-fertilized soil (Lightmix).
The choice of fertilizer is up to each individual, we devote ourselves to the organic route.
After germination, the plants require few nutrients, which is why we recommend a light mix. We rely on a vital root system right from the start, which is why we use mycorrhiza spores when repotting the seedlings immediately after germination.
DANGER:
It is important not to press the soil too tightly when repotting, otherwise the roots will have difficulty getting oxygen and will therefore develop more slowly.
Finally, it is important to avoid waterlogging, as the small plants cannot absorb much water at this stage; less is often more!
Cleanliness and accuracy
Apart from the basics regarding light, climate, fertilizers and genetics, a successful grow depends above all on cleanliness and precision.
Therefore, always make sure that everything is clean inside and outside the grow area. Here are a few tips from me that I can give you based on my years of experience. Dust and dirt are a paradise for pests, so if possible, make sure to change your outfit before entering your grow area, so you can minimize the risk of fungal spores or pest infestation.
It is also important to disinfect your hands and tools. This is because it is possible that viruses and diseases can be transmitted to your plants. Smoking a cigarette, for example, can transmit the so-called tobacco mosaic virus via your hands. This is just one example of many problems that could arise, which is why I can only repeat to you that cleanliness is the be-all and end-all!
Donβt forget, chilling always happens after the grow!
